ECCE Council Webinar on Children's Use of Social Media: Roles and Responsibilities of Parents and Early Childhood Educators

PEEAM has been invited by ECCE Council for participating in the webinar on Children’s Use of Social Media: Roles and Responsibilities of Parents and Early Childhood Educators, which was on Saturday 3rd October 2020.

Introduction:

The report on the study of children’s and adolescents’ use of social media in ASEAN titled. “Our Online Lives: the Use of Social Media by Children and Adolescents – opportunities, risks and harms”, launched on 19 September 2020, is very interesting but some of the findings are alarming. The study focused on 4 countries and Malaysia is one of them. The Council perceives a pressing need to disseminate the information and what parents and early childhood educators should do. We are very pleased that Dr Rashed Mustafa Sarwar, UNICEF Representative to Malaysia and Special Representative to Brunei Darassalem, will be the key speaker.
